Let Brad Pitt Take You For a Ride in an F1 Car

I am very excited about the F1 movie that’s out next week. It’s a movie focused on my favourite sport, financed by my favourite tech company. But the reason I’m most excited about this movie is who’s behind it—Joseph Kosinski, the director of Top Gun: Maverick.

I didn’t get the chance to see Maverick in theaters and was so mad that I missed it. That movie is an absolute thrill ride. So when it was announced that Kosinski would be directing this one, I felt confident it was the right call. If you’re going to make a movie about F1, I want cameras strapped to the cars, and I want the actors driving them. And that’s exactly what we’re going to get.

Apple spent a ton of money on this movie—reportedly over $200 million—and they are going all out on the promotion. Today, they published a Vision Pro Immersive Video of Brad Pitt doing a lap of the Yas Marina circuit. In this video, you are essentially strapped to the side of the car as he takes a full practice lap. You can look to your left and see Brad operating the wheel, or look around and take in the full sights of the circuit as he screeches around corners at high speeds.

I had been hoping they would do something with the Vision Pro for this movie, and this is exactly what I wanted to see. It’s incredibly impressive to watch Pitt handle the car, and it’s a ton of fun to watch him do it. It’s quite exhilarating.

I know there is only a tiny group of people able to watch this right now, but I bet they’ll be heavily promoting this in Apple Stores so you can see for yourself. If you’re an F1 fan, it’s amazing to have this kind of immersive view of a lap around Yas Marina.

I cannot wait to see this movie in IMAX next week.
